... we did it!
Wow -- what an amazing four days. We all made it to the summit with no injuries. I'm a little tired and sore, and I've got a bad sunburn on the backs of my hands (seriously, who remembers to put sunscreen on the backs of their hands?), but I'm honestly a little surprised at how good I'm feeling today.
This is us at the summit of Point Lenana -- 4895 kilometers (16,060 feet) above sea level.
Point Lenana is the one in the middle of this photo. (You can't reach the top of the larger peak on the right w/o serious climbing experience and serious climbing gear.)
More details and more photos to come in the next few days!!

Go you! That is great. We only hike up 4,000 foot mountains around here--way to quadruple that! (By the way, you're on malaria meds, right? I bet that's why you got sunburned on your hands. For some reason the malaria meds make you more susceptible to getting burnt and that exact thing happened to a bunch of us in Madagascar. Random.) Yay Mt. Kenya! --Jessica

Definitely could be the malaria meds -- I normally don't burn very easily and the backs of my hands are still really red.
Glad you liked the pictures guys -- stay tuned, the best ones are from Days 2, 3, and 4!
